About
As my chosen internet handle insinuates, I am a real live female on the internet, and I’m also a 21 year old college student from New Jersey. This blog will pretty much exist only for me to rant about anime and manga — more often the online community discussing it, actually. I’m not enough of a consistent poster to have a real anime blog, but I read lots of them (far more than I put in the community section… I had to cut it down to about a fifth of what I actually read), and find it fun to talk/rant about trends and such that pop up in the community. Feel free to comment! I love a good argument, so long as it’s kept reasonable. ^.^
- Do want
- in depth discussion
- any kind of anime, provided I enjoy for whatever reason (even if that reason is to make fun of it)
- hawt anime babes, legal age status irrelevant (Though… isn’t it already irrelevant? They are drawings after all.)
- yuri
- Do not want
- trolls and/or pretentious douches
- I lied — I’m not really a fan of mecha or military themed anime, though I will occasionally make exceptions.
- bishies. I like dudes who look like dudes, thanks. And even then I’m not particularly going to care. Think of me as male blind like that chick from Kashimashi, but I ain’t emo about it.
- yaoi. Or bad yuri (re: Strawberry Panic). Or faux yuri (It’s a trap!).
A~HA, a female on the internet, they DO exist!
Wait… You’re a TRAP aren’t you?!
-eyes suspiciously-
Nope, I’m an actual chick. :-p I am the mythological creature of ancient internet lore.
Hey Betty,
Thank you for the comment on my KnJ post. =] I’m glad to know that there are other females out there who can enjoy the series as much as I do.
On another note, I was wondering if you would like to join me, sasa, and usagijen in our female round-robin? How this works is one of us will pick a prompt about a certain issue that we would like to address, we pass it around to each other, everyone writes a post on it, and then we link to one another’s entries and epic discussion ensues. During the first meeting that I had with sasa and jen, we brought these potential topics: misconceptions [RL girls vs. anime girls – stereotypes and influence on perception], ideals of the perfect lover [contradictory expectations], and mechanics of rape fantasies [appeal and acceptability?]
I came up with this project because there are so very few female bloggers in the blogosphere. Ergo, I thought that having a space for us to be able to interact with one another and share ideas might be a good thing and maybe encourage other girls to come out and speak up =] Female solidarity and all that~
I was trying to look for your email on this blog so I can get in touch with you and try to convince you *nudge nudge* to join this upcoming project. But I can’t find it =/ In any case, if you are interested, please get in touch with me at my blog and I’ll give you more info and etc.
neechan~! You should blog more! :3
Hi, I came across your site and wasn’t able to get an email address to contact you about some broken links on your site. Please email me back and I would be happy to point them out to you.
